These tracks are recorded as generative music. We took recordings of our own improvisations and let the computer decide what order they were played in. We believe this type of automatic composing reflects the unpredictable nature of the ecosystems that inspired these musical ideas, namely the sea anemones that can be found in the tidepools at Pillar Point. The particular genus found along the northern California coast is called Anthopleura and is pictured on the cover above.
